Meet Professor Viktoria Eleftheriadou
International Expert In Medical Dermatology, Pigmentary Disorders & Aesthetic Dermatology
Prof Viktoria is a Consultant Dermatologist and the Lead for the Vitiligo Clinic and Research for adult and paediatric patients at Walsall Healthcare & The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trusts. She is a substantive Consultant and treats patients with any skin problems and rashes on the NHS and privately, including eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer and acne.
Her dermatology training was undertaken in the East and West Midlands, and she completed her PhD on clinical dermatology (evidence-based methodology, clinical trials methodology, vitiligo and phototherapy) at the University of Nottingham, UK, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
Since 2010, she frequently presents her research at national and international meetings. Currently, she leads several national and international initiatives and is an Honorary Associate Professor-College of Medical and Dental Sciences, University of Birmingham. She has been awarded multiple awards from the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
She is a Section Editor for the British Journal of Dermatology, one of the top three dermatological journals in the world and has more than 100 academic publications at the highest impact scientific journals such as The Lancet, British Journal of Dermatology and the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). She has delivered lectures and presentations globally for the last 15 years.

Awards & Academic Contributions
​​Prof Viktoria's primary research interests lie in vitiligo and skin pigmentary disorders, evidence-based dermatology, trials methodology, outcome measures and qualitative research. Her ground-breaking work in vitiligo earned her a PhD from the University of Nottingham in 2013, while her thesis, Setting Priorities and Reducing Uncertainties for the Treatment of Vitiligo, has significantly influenced the field.

​As the lead author of the updated 2021 British Association of Dermatologists guidelines for vitiligo management, she continues to shape clinical practice standards. She is currently engaged in several pivotal projects, including an observational study and registry for vitiligo patients and a clinical trial exploring the effectiveness of psychological interventions for
vitiligo management.​ She has received numerous awards and recognitions for her contributions to dermatology, and demonstrated leadership in several key research initiatives including leading the British Association of Dermatologists clinical guidelines on vitiligo.
